What's summer without a Turkish RomCom. Though most of this summer's series are about fake relationships turned romance and stuff, one of them stands out the most, and that's Sen Çal Kapımı.
Shall we?!
Staring Hande Erçel and Kerem Bürsin as leads (plus a whole set of amazing actors) this dizi is about two people that start a fake relationship in order to separate the man's ex girlfriend from her current fiancé.
I talked about this series in a post about the summers dizis I'm most exited about.
Here's what I liked and what I didn't like about the series.
WHAT I LIKED:
The leads
Couldn't have chosen better leads. Hande's acting has improved A LOT since her debut in Güneşin Kızları and Kerem always delivers, so yeah there's that.
The chemistry between them is undeniable it keeps you wanting more.

2. Erdem and Seyfi
They're the scene stealers. Whenever they show up I crack up, and it's been that way since the first episode.

3. The mystery
Serkan kinda has a problem with getting sick, he keeps checking his pulse and his mother doesn't get out of the house so something is definitely going on.
My guess : - He has a heart problem (or maybe even had a surgery)
- He had a sibling who had a heart problem
Eda's grandmother is still not known. I'm thinking she's a super duper famous person that everybody knows and respects (Everybody will be shocked)
4. The plot and scenario + cast
The show doesn't portray Eda as an innocent girl that does whatever she's told. She's a strong person that knows exactly what she wants and she goes for it. She claps back at the hate and knows when to demand respect.
The show doesn't create problems out of anything like other shows do. For example when Eda decided to get engaged to Serkan her aunt didn't make a scene out of it, though she didn't seems to accept it, she didn't show it. She basically handled the situation like a adult, letting Eda make her own decisions. But that doesn't mean that she didn't have a say in things, she didn't hesitate in showing her discomfort when she heard that Eda was moving in with Serkan.
5. The wardrobe
In a way it's just Hande's beauty killing every single outfit she puts on. She's just so gorgeous it hurts

P.S: And lets not talk about the amazingness (not a word) of the cast.
The cast behind the scenes is to die for. They look like they enjoy each other's comapany and are having so much fun.

WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE:
1. The similarity with Aşk Laftan Anlamaz
I noticed so many similarities between Sen Çal Kapımı and Aşk Laftan Anlamaz.
- Hande's character is claustrophobic in both of them.
- The car scene, when the widow opens (you know which one I'm talking about)
- Eda's girlfriends kind of remind me of Hayat's
But I have to admit that this show made these scenes its own
2. Too much focus on the lead couple
Theplot is way too focused on the relationship between the two leads. I mean, I get it, the show is about them. But still, I feel like the other characters have so much to offer. Not only the actors are good but their characters are worth exploring.
3. Eda's weird illness
She basically sleeps when she's stressed. They made it weird. I mean, I get it, they're trying to be creative and give our male lead something to worry about for him to care about our female lead, but wasn't claustrophobia enough?
Though I still liked Serkan's reaction when he first found out.
4. Serkan's character
They may have been creative with Eda's character but Serkan's is too cliché for me.
He doesn't show his feelings as a principle except for when he's jealous, he gets angry at Eda and bails on her just because he doesn't want to get close to her beyond their contract and he doesn't bother to explain his decisions to his partners at work.
But even though I hate this trait, it still sits well with the series, so it's forgivable. ( I just wanted to complain about it that's it)
5. The little filming mistakes
I know that things like that are forgivable but they just take my focus away from the show at times. For example:
- In a scene Serkan was wearing a tie and in the next second he wasn't
- In another Sekan and Eda were talking on the phone and she asked him to close his laptop, he did and when it switched to another angle the computer was still opened and on
- Another was when the two leads were cooking, Eda was holding the knife in her left hand and from another angle it was in her right.
This series is my favorite out of the dizis airing this summer.
Give a shot and you won't regret it.
