After I started writing this blog, I found myself thinking about all the movies that marked my childhood and taught me something important, something I keep with me till this very day.
I want to share with you some of these movies along with the values they transferred to me.
Follow moi!
Arthur and the Minimoys (Fight for what you believe in)
You'll probably find it under the name Arthur and the Invisibles, but I first watched it in French so the Minimoys part really expresses it for me.
It's a family movie that follows the story of Arthur who lives with his grams and whose grandfather went missing.
Arthur's grandmother, tells him stories about his grandfather's adventures and after she's forced to pay her debt in no time, Arthur starts searching the house for means to pay it and discovers clues left by his grandfather in the house.
He's later turned into a Minimoy by one of his grandfather's friends and embarks on a Minimoy journey to save the Mini world.

The movie is about so much more than just fantasy to pass the time. It's about discovering one's self and it's about honesty and childhood's innocence.
2. Step mom (it's not wrong to give people the benefit of the doubt sometimes)
Step moms are often portrayed badly in movies and cartoons - poke Cinderella- but not in this one.
Our pretty woman; Julia Roberts, stars in this movie as a photographer and girlfriend to a divorced attorney who has 2 kids. The movie shows how the relationship between the two women changes from (kind of) hatred to acceptance.

This movie shows the importance of family. And even though one of them is gone it doesn't mean that they will be forgotten. But it certainly doesn't mean that another person can't fill their void.
3 . Flubber (Never let life disconnect you from the child in you)
Can you make friends with a green substance? Well this movie proves you can.
This movie is about a mad scientist, portrayed by Robin Williams, who keeps missing his wedding due to his experiments. On the night of his 3rd attempted wedding he creates a flying rubber substance that he names Flubber. And then the fun (or trouble) begins.

Don't let your work or even your passion take you away from your responsibilities towards people around you. And mostly don't let them take away your fun side and disconnect you from the child in you.
4. Jumanji (It's never too late to make things right)
The movie that basically marked my childhood (alongside Harry Potter). It's been more than 10 years since I last watched it, but I still remember its details.
The story officially begins when Alan plays a board game with his friend Anna. The game is weird as the game pieces move by themselves and a message appears at the center of the board. On Alan's turn the board sucks him in.
26 years later, the game starts again, but there's a catch. The previous one hasn't ended yet.

Honestly speaking the thing I remember the most was Peter turning into a monkey because he cheated. Needless to say, cheating was a difficult thing for me to do as a child.
But mostly this movie is all about second chances, friendship and love.
5. Wall-e (No matter what, you're never alone in the world)
Wall-e is a robot left on earth by itself to collect garbage - the only survivor after humans have evacuated the earth and the other robots seized to function.
He is later visited by EVE a robot that he falls in love with and tries to find across a universe he knows nothing about.

Wall-e will make you cry. How difficult is it to be alone. But even then, you'll learn to make your own happiness and to pursue whatever makes you achieve that state.
I hope these movies make you smile and help you in creating a bonding time with your family.
I will be back with a part 2 where I'll share with you a new collection. Until then, stay safe and create your own happiness!
